Abstract:
The Routledge Companion to Northeast India is an amazing collection of finely edited chapters, 81 in number, devoted to nearly every branch of Northeast Indian studies. The volume provides an array of conceptual tools and theoretical frameworks to understand the region. From trans-Himalayan trade, urbanisation, animism, river ways, food and Hindutva politics, to geomorphology, hydropower, citizenship, religion and music—there is a mind-boggling variety to the contributions.
