Abstract:
This paper is an outcome of the Conference on Ancient Indian Glass, which discussed the most up-to-date research on South Asia glass to inform and inspire a new generation of researchers from this region. International and South Asian speakers deliberated upon different aspects of glass research belonging to the field of archaeology, ethnography and archaeometry. At a time when India is witnessing the collapse of its traditional glass industry in favor of a more automated and less labor intensive alternative, the conference will provided new information about the roots of an activity on the brink of extension
