The present disclosure relates to a filter (100) for water purification as shown in figure 1, and a process for its manufacture. The filter (100) of the present disclosure removes/kills bacteria from contaminated water, is cost-effective, non-electric, has a long term usage does not lead to the formation of disinfection by-products (DBPs). Further, the process for manufacturing filter of the present disclosure is simple, easy, scalable and economical.
