The present disclosure discloses a system (1000) and a method (2000) for classifying and detecting gait patterns. The system(1000) comprises a wearable device(100) having a battery(102) to provide an uninterrupted power supply; a plurality of sensors(104) to capture an input signal of a user in real-time; a preprocessing module(106) to determine one or more gait parameters by means of a set of pre-processing rules; a classification module(108) to classify and detect gait patterns by implementing a set of classification rules in said gait parameters; an assistive device(110) to receive said gait pattern over a communication medium(112) in real-time; a user interface(110a) to visualize said gait pattern on a display unit of said user interface(112); a recovery module(110b) to generate feedback on said gait pattern and identify and recover the said gait pattern by means of a set of recovery rules, and monitor said recovery of gait pattern in real-time.
