The present disclosure relates to a photocatalytic substrate for producing hydrogen and a process for the preparation of the photocatalytic substrate. The photocatalytic substrate of the present disclosure is cost-effective and scalable. The process for the preparation of the photocatalytic substrate is simple, environment-friendly and cost-efficient. The present disclosure also provides a process for producing hydrogen by using the photocatalytic substrate that is cost-effective and eco-friendly.
