The present disclosure relates to benzimidazole-based compounds as an inosine-5�-monophosphate dehydrogenase inhibitor. The benzimidazole-based compounds of the present disclosure are effective against Helicobacter pylori infection. The present disclosure further relates to a process for the preparation of benzimidazole-based compounds. The benzimidazole-based compounds obtained by the process of the present disclosure are obtained with high purity and in greater yields. The process of the present disclosure provides the benzimidazole-based compounds having high purity and in greater yield.
