Abstract
Bacteria exhibit a variety of interesting behaviour that provide valuable insight into their growth kinetics. However, it is a considerable challenge to make non-invasive, non-destructive and time-resolved measurements while also avoiding the need for careful sample preparation. Tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) with wavelength modulation is an accurate and robust investigative technique that can be used to study the correlation between the expression of microbial traits and the different stages of growth as demonstrated through the study of microbial bioluminescence (BL) from Photobacterium leiognathi (MCC2779).
