Abstract
SynRM field-oriented control is analyzed. SynRM is a viable option for variable-speed applications such as electric transportation. For optimum performance in a complete speed range, efficient control is necessary. SynRM has nonlinear characteristics; hence, the control needs to be dynamic with the change in operating point. Using finite element (FE) analysis, the machine's non-linearities can be considered, and therefore, more efficient control can be developed. It helps find the stable operating range above base speed where the field is highly weakened and deteriorated. The paper discusses different operating regions and the implementation of a control algorithm using lookup tables in an FE-based co-simulation platform. 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
