The present disclosure relates to a process for the preparation of a polymer reinforced metal matrix composite. The process comprises use of friction stir processing carried out at a room temperature without degrading the polymer during the preparation of the composite. Further, the present disclosure relates to the polymer reinforced metal matrix composite which has better mechanical and electrochemical properties.
