Abstract
In the present context of Electric Vehicle (EV) industry and its incorporation in the global market is highly dependent on the selection of the battery system. The battery is the heart of the EV and Li-ion battery is the most preferred one because of its characteristics of high energy density compared to other types of batteries. Similarly, different types of batteries are having some common characteristics with some qualitative and quantitative variations. These variations segregate them in terms of functionality and usability in EV industry. Therefore, in this paper, a depth analysis of eight common characteristics of different types of Lithium-ion batteries are done and compared graphically. The significance of these traits in the selection of a battery are analyzed mathematically. Hence, this paper will be helpful in broadening the insights of scientists, researchers and policy makers in taking proper decision for the future battery industry.
